The Pallars Sobirà has canyons for every taste, but if you’re after a beginner activity with just the right amount of adventure, Escart Canyon is a safe bet.

A short route between Escaló and Escart where you’ll find some fun jumps and a couple of 7-metre rappels to discover (or rediscover) the feeling of descending on a rope surrounded by nature.

Its short approach and manageable route make it a great option to do with the kids, with grandparents, or with that friend who always says “I’m not brave enough” — spoiler: they are.

Escart Canyon is a short but complete descent, ideal for getting started in rappelling and canyoning without any major complications.

The route starts with a few scrambling sections and small jumps to warm up, before reaching the canyon’s two highlights: two 7-metre rappels where you’ll learn (or perfect) the technique of descending on a rope through the rock.

Between rappels, the canyon treats you to small pools and water features typical of the Pallars, surrounded by forest and calm.

It’s a short, accessible canyon, perfect to do with children or as a first contact with this world, always accompanied by a certified guide who will make sure everything runs smoothly.

Escart Canyon is found between the villages of Escaló and Escart, in the Pallars Sobirà.

How to get there?

By car: from Sort, take the C-13 towards Llavorsí. Once past Llavorsí you’ll reach Escaló. Just before or after the village you’ll find the turn-off towards Escart, where the activity’s access point is located.
Meeting point: we’ll confirm the exact parking spot when you book, as it can vary depending on water flow and time of year.

Yes! Escart Canyon is ideal for beginners, with small jumps and 7-metre rappels designed so you can learn the technique safely.

What equipment do I need for canyoning?

For your canyoning adventure, we recommend bringing:

Hiking shoes or sturdy sports shoes with good grip
Thermal base layer (recommended in cooler weather)
Sunscreen
Swimsuit
Gloves (optional)
A change of clothes
Glasses retainer strap (if needed)
Water

Can children take part?

To do this canyon, it’s essential to know how to swim. We recommend it from age 7-8, so children can carry out rope manoeuvres independently and cope with the water temperature inside the canyon.

Do I need previous canyoning experience?

No, you don’t! It’s a perfect canyon to start falling in love with canyoning 😉

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

Your safety always comes first.

If weather or water conditions are not suitable, we’ll offer an alternative activity or reschedule your booking for another date.
