Why hire a certified mountain guide?
Going to the mountains is not just about reaching the highest summit — it’s about understanding the landscape around you. The Pyrenees offer nature at its finest: from black pine forests and ancient fir woods to historic paths connecting stone villages.
At ADN Pirineus, we believe the greatest gift of any route is peace of mind. Choosing a professional guide gives you value far beyond navigation:
Environmental interpretation
With a guide, you don’t just walk — you learn to spot wildlife tracks like chamois, identify native plants and understand how these valleys were formed.
Risk management
We take care of logistics, weather conditions and safety so you can simply enjoy the experience.
Access to hidden gems
We avoid crowded routes. We know the trails that don’t appear on Wikiloc (or social media), where the true essence of the Pyrenees remains untouched.
We plan, you enjoy
We know that planning a mountain activity can feel overwhelming. We help you with gear, manage the physical effort according to your level, and adapt to your group’s pace so the adventure feels like a pleasure, not a struggle.
You set the pace
Not everyone is looking for the same challenge. That’s why our mid-mountain routes are designed to be enjoyable without suffering. We adapt elevation and duration so the experience fits you — whether you come as a couple, with friends or as a family.

Questions before going on a hike?
Here’s some useful information to know before your activity.

What exactly is hiking?
Hiking is an outdoor activity that consists of walking to discover places, mountains and natural environments. It follows marked trails with the goal of enjoying nature, staying active and exploring new places.
What equipment do I need for the routes?
It depends! First, we need to define the duration of the route to determine what gear is required.
For half-day or full-day routes, you’ll need proper mountain clothing and footwear. Depending on the route, you may also need a backpack with food and water.
For longer routes, gear planning becomes more important. When you book a guided tour, we’ll provide a detailed packing list based on your route.
What level of fitness do I need?
It depends on the route you choose. We offer many options and can also design a custom route for you. We’ll always advise you so you pick something that matches your level — just contact us!
That said, a minimum level of fitness is required. The guide may refuse participation if the minimum requirements are not met.
Why is it important to hire a guide?
If you’re looking for peace of mind and a deeper connection with the place, a guide makes all the difference. We handle logistics and share insights and stories about the area you’re exploring.
Can you sleep in the Catalan Pyrenees?
Wild camping is not generally allowed in the Pyrenees. However, in emergency situations and where there are no restrictions, overnight stays above 2,000 meters may be allowed during certain nighttime hours.
Fortunately, there are many staffed and free mountain huts across the Pyrenees that can be included in your route with proper planning.
What are the best family-friendly routes?
- Sant Maurici Lake loop (Pallars Sobirà)
- Mont-Rebei (Pallars Jussà – La Noguera)
- Mu Gorge (La Noguera)
- Prat de Cadí (Cerdanya)
- Sant Aniol hike (Garrotxa)
- Colomèrs Cirque (Val d’Aran)
- Corviu viewpoint (Pallars Sobirà)
What if I can’t attend? Can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the activity. After that, no refund will be issued, but you’ll receive a voucher for another date.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Safety comes first. If conditions are not suitable, we’ll offer an alternative or reschedule the activity. If that’s not possible, you’ll receive a full refund.
