What are via ferratas?

Via ferratas in Catalonia are a unique way to connect with the mountains: you’ll be able to tackle vertical walls, suspension bridges, and overhangs safely thanks to certified energy absorbers and technical equipment. Each route has its own character—some are perfect as beginner via ferratas, while others offer a full challenge for more experienced participants.

What makes each via ferrata special is the type of rock and the surroundings. In the central Pyrenees, the rock is mainly granite and slate, while in the Pre-Pyrenees of Lleida, limestone and sedimentary rock dominate, making each route a unique visual and sporting experience.

Where are the best via ferratas in Catalonia?

In Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà, and Alta Ribagorça, you’ll find the best via ferratas in Catalonia, with options for all levels—from beginner via ferratas to routes that challenge your technique and endurance. Explore them all, discover the best via ferrata for you, and get ready to experience the Catalan Pyrenees in a way that only via ferratas can offer.

Dudas antes de hacer vías ferratas?

Here you’ll find important information that will be useful to know before your activity.

If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for… click here:

What exactly is a via ferrata?

Via ferrata is an adventure sport where we climb a rock face using the rock itself, iron rungs, bridges, chains…

We are secured with a via ferrata lanyard and harness to ensure safety throughout the activity.

What equipment do I need to bring?

Sports shoes, mountain or sports clothing suitable for the activity, a backpack, water, and a desire to have fun.

We provide all safety equipment (harness, wetsuit, helmet, ropes).

What fitness level do I need?

It depends on the via ferrata you choose. We offer options for beginners as well as advanced participants. We always advise you so you can choose the activity that best suits your level—just contact us!

A minimum physical condition is required to participate in the activity. The guide may refuse participation if the client does not meet the minimum physical requirements.

From what age can canyoning be done?

The minimum age is 8 years old, and all minors must be accompanied by an adult. If you’re a family looking for adventure, we highly recommend the Salt del Botanal Via Ferrata or the Teletubbies route. Both kids and adults will enjoy it a lot.

What if I’ve never done via ferratas before?

No problem! If it’s your first time, choose a beginner-level activity to get started in the world of adventure sports 😉

What if I can’t come in the end? Can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the activity. After that, the activity fee will not be refunded, but you will receive a voucher for another date.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

Safety is our priority. If conditions are not suitable (bad weather), we will look for an alternative or reschedule the activity. Otherwise, a full refund will be issued.

Is it safe to do via ferratas?

Absolutely! We work with certified guides, approved equipment, insurance, and strict protocols so you only need to focus on enjoying the experience.
