For many people, Bóixols Canyon is their first experience of canyoning. And there’s a good reason for that: it’s short, fun and offers just the right amount of excitement without feeling intimidating.
The activity begins in the small village of Bóixols, in front of the Romanesque church of Sant Vicenç, in one of the most remote corners of the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees, right between Pallars Jussà and Alt Urgell.
From there, a short approach walk of just 10 minutes takes us to the entrance of the limestone canyon, a spectacular natural maze carved out by water over thousands of years.
Once inside, the adventure keeps moving: small jumps—always optional—natural rock slides and sections where you’ll scramble and make your way through the water.
The adventure ends with the highlight of the descent: an approximately 12-metre rappel that provides the perfect finale.
The walk back to the village is short and relaxed, giving you just enough time to talk about the best moments and take a group photo.
Starting point
The meeting point is in the village of Bóixols, in front of the Sant Vicenç church, where there is space to park.
How to get there

The road makes a sharp bend as it passes through the village. Please park considerately and respect the local residents, as Bóixols is a small village with limited parking space.
By car from Alt Urgell
From Coll de Nargó, follow the same L-511 road towards Isona.
