Infern Canyon is one of those adventures you simply can’t miss if you’re visiting the Pallars. Hidden within the spectacular Collegats Gorge, this narrow and dramatic canyon is surrounded by impressive limestone cliffs that make the setting as memorable as the descent itself.
The adventure begins with an exciting decision: crossing the Noguera Pallaresa River. Depending on the water level, there are three different ways to reach the canyon entrance: a 7-metre jump into the river, a thrilling zip line crossing, or simply walking across if conditions allow.
Once on the other side, we’ll complete a short but steep climb before gearing up and starting our aquatic adventure.
Throughout the descent you’ll tackle a variety of obstacles, making this one of the most complete canyoning experiences in the Pyrenees. Expect three mandatory rappels—including an unforgettable 20-metre descent straight into a spectacular cave—several natural slides and a 4-metre optional jump.
At the end of the canyon, we’ll cross the Noguera Pallaresa once again, letting the current gently carry us downstream until we reach the area where our vehicles are waiting.
It’s widely considered one of the finest canyoning routes in the Pyrenees, offering fresh mountain water, impressive scenery and excitement from start to finish.

Is Infern Canyon suitable for beginners?
Infern Canyon is classified as an advanced-level canyon, mainly because of its 20-metre rappel.
However, it is not considered highly technical, which means that adventurous people who are comfortable with heights often choose Infern Canyon as their very first canyoning experience.
What equipment do I need for canyoning?
For your canyoning adventure, we recommend bringing:
- Hiking shoes or sturdy sports shoes with good grip
- Thermal base layer (recommended in cooler weather)
- Sunscreen
- Swimsuit
- Gloves (optional)
- A change of clothes
- Glasses retainer strap (if needed)
- Water
We’ll provide all the technical equipment, including your wetsuit, helmet and harness.
Can children take part?
We recommend Infern Canyon for participants aged 11 and over.
At this age, children are generally able to handle the rope techniques independently and are better prepared for the cool water temperatures inside the canyon.
Do I need previous canyoning experience?
Previous experience is not essential, but we do recommend completing a beginner-level canyon first so you’ll already be familiar with the basics of canyoning.
What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?
Your safety always comes first.
If weather or water conditions are not suitable, we’ll offer an alternative activity or reschedule your booking for another date.
